Hey, everybody, welcome to the guided culture podcasts. It's Macy all by herself today. I've been doing a lot of self reflection. Today is actually a Sunday that I'm recording this episode because for the last couple of days I've just been doing a lot of thinking a lot of heart searching and cleaning out my brain and making sure I'm thinking correctly and had a couple of come to Jesus moments yesterday. Been doing a lot of just writing and making sure that I'm on the right track and have cut some realizations. And I just really felt led to come here and record this today. While it was heavy on my heart, and I just really hope it serves you well, make sure you listen all the way to the end and let me know how you like it. Always tag me on Instagram. And if you don't mind, if you could just pop over to Apple podcast and leave us a review that would be in credible were always so thankful for those hope you enjoyed this episode and we will talk soon. Bye, guys. What Guide Culture Online. April. It's just around the corner. The last day to sign up is April 8th and we start all in April 12th. This is 2020 and ah, in just in case you. But you're listening to this in 2025 right? We've been talking a lot of different people who are feeling a very certain way, and the word that everyone keeps using is frozen. And I want you to know that I too, have felt that way and feel that way. And I did so much thinking yesterday about why I also feel frozen in certain parts of my life and what I can do to get the heck out of that. I actually came to the office today, which is a Sunday. I went on a run and I came straight here to record this because it's just been on my brain and it's been on my heart. And I did some writing this morning and I was just like, Man, I got to get in here and record this because I just I just know that so many people are feeling frozen in their health, in their routines and in their businesses and their personal growth journey. I mean, this world pandemic is totally messing with our brains. I know I've especially felt this way in a couple of different areas of my life. So definitely in my workouts, in my personal development, Honestly, my journaling, the things that I d'oh habitually like No problem. I've felt totally frozen. And in fact, really, the only place I've felt focused is in this space right here of just really helping you as much as I possibly can and creating content on instagram and podcasts and just anywhere that I can show up because I really do feel like someone. Whether it's one person or 1000 people I don't know is we're just like, really depending on me. Like I picture the person sitting in their living room working on their business and feeling so stuck and feeling so down and hope like I picture them and I feel like they're depending on me, even if they haven't found me yet. Um, and I feel this overwhelming burden to show up and to help. So that's been an area that I have felt almost over focused in. But these other parts is working out and journaling and personal development. I know of those air not in line. My ability to help people will get off track very, very quickly. And if you follow me on Instagram, you know that those things are actually some of my favorite things to do, right? I love going to the gym. I love lifting weights and the energy of the gym. I love the 5 a.m. crew. Everyone is in there just getting after it, and I just feel like you can really push myself there. It's actually been it's been a habit of mine for years. Wake up. Go to the gym, come home, get dressed journal, read quiet time. Either start working at home or go to the office and goto work. It's like a non negotiable for me, right? But ever since the gym has been closed. Okay, all of those things have been out of whack, and I felt frozen barely doing any of that at all. I literally get up, roll out of bed, get dress, either go the officer, start working. I don't do any of the things I usually do to fill it myself. And of course, you know that when you're in a place of being frozen like you just feel terrible. Um, because you're just not yourself, right? You might feel a little bit sluggish unless productive and left productive all of those things. And so I had, like, a little moment for myself. Yesterday, I got on the pellet on bike, my parents of appellate on bike, and they live about six minutes away. So it's scooted over to their house. And I just did a pellet on RA Appellate on bike ride, and the bike ride was cold. Um, it was called, like a feel good class or something like that. It wasn't I usually go for, like, intervals or the speed or the hills. Like I choose those things, the hard stuff, but this, like, feel good, right? It just spoke to me, right? So I got on it, and it was really about breathing and thinking, and the music was awesome. The teacher was awesome. She gave us a lot of space to think, and I really let myself get in my head and just really thought okay, like, what is the root here, right? Like I'm feeling this and so many other people are feeling this. So what is the root of it? What is that like, Why do we keep putting a Band Aid of the issue, which is like, Oh, I'll do it later. I'll get back to usual later or I don't really know what I'm supposed to do right now. Oh, the world is just so crazy. Like that's a Band Aid thinking of those things and we're all in that place, right? Me too. And so I'm just riding and I'm like like what I need. I need to go into surgery in my head and not just get a Band Aid on my head. You know what I'm saying in my brain? And so after my ride, I got off in and start stretching, and I just realized I'm like, Gosh, like all we are doing right now as we're frozen as we are just waiting for normal, we're just waiting for normal to come back. We're pausing. Were frozen still because when normal life comes back, we will go back to acting normal. We woke to our business as normal will eat the way we usually eat, will go back to exercising the way we usually do well read the way we usually do will do all the things we normally do when everything else is back to normal and it makes so much fence. I'm like, Yeah, of course, that's what we want. That's what everyone wants. I don't know about you, but every time I hear anything on the news, which I really try to keep it off, but it's inevitable. You know what I'm saying? You kind of got to know what's actually happening. But every time I hear anything, normal does not feel like it is around the corner anytime soon. It does not feel like, you know Oh, I can see like, in my opinion, like I can't even see the light of what normal might possible possibly be like where it might be. I mean, all the school's officially closed down through the end of the year. I think it's like all the way through April, you know, whatever. It does not feel like it's around the corner all So I had a little come to Jesus moment with myself on the bike, right? I was like, OK, Macy, let's have a little heart to heart with yourself and I decided that I'm going to think five new thoughts every day I'm gonna tell you these thoughts and justice, I can't. But I'm going to think them and say them out loud. I'm almost gonna use them as an affirmation. And the reason this is so important is because our thoughts determine our actions. Interactions determine our results. Okay. Our thoughts, the way we think, determines the way we act and the way we act determines our results. And the more I learned about leadership and the more I learned about entrepreneurship, I just all like a common denominator. Is the ability to really manage your thoughts, Manage the way you think Which manages the way you act, which managed it manages you are results. And so that's really been the root for me is like, Okay, Macey, let's clean out this brain of yours to make sure that you were thinking correctly so that you can act and lead in the best way possible. So whenever you're feeling frozen, whether it's in your in your business and your health and your personal development, wherever you're feeling that way, I really I really believe that these five thoughts can apply. And so I wanted to share them with you and hopes that they will. My thought number one is action or in action will create a result. Action or inaction will create a result. We think that just because we stay still, our results will also just stay still. And that's just not true. Inaction will create a result just as much as action will on that pellet own bike that I was that ride that I was doing, where I had my come to Jesus moment. The instructor said something so good, and I don't remember exactly how she said it, But it was something along the lines of hate do for you what you would do for your loved one. So, like I think about Austin like, I wouldn't you know, my husband, I would want him so bad to choose the right thing to eat and to choose the right thing to do for his business and to manage his time really well and to exercise and a push himself like I want that for him so bad. And if we traded bodies, I would be more careful about how he treated his body in his mind. That I would be Then I would be for my own on. I think a lot of us have a loved one that we would do the same exact thing. I would do that for my mom, my sister, my niece, my nephew, my brother in law. My dad. I would treat their bodies and minds better than I would treat my own. I would encourage them to take action instead of just staying still. And so when I'm thinking about the action or the inaction that I'm taking, I'm like, Okay. What? What? I d'oh for my loved one. If I switched bodies with them today in this moment, how would I treat it? And I would take action. I would take massive action in the best direction I knew possible. My second thought it is. This is normal. This is normal. Don't wait for normal. This is the new normal. This is where we will be for an unforeseen amount of time. And luckily for us, the future has never been predictable ever in our entire life. So this actually is incredibly normal. We don't know what tomorrow holds. We never have known what tomorrow will hold. So this is normal. Don't wait for normal. Don't wait for things to become the way they always have been because this is the new normal. It's fine. So new. Normal. My third thought is leading through a crisis is an honor. Leading through a crisis is an honor. It is a joy, and it is an honor to lead people right now, whether you are a parent or whether you are a leader of a team of two or a team of hundreds, you lead people and it is your job to be riel and to stay calm and to stay focused. I know it feels like you just want to retreat during the season, but you set the tone for your family. You set the tone for your team and for your household believe that it is an honor and not a burden because it is such an honor and it is such a joy. And when you come out of this, you are gonna learn so many things that you can carry along with you when things feel a little bit back into place and it is going to be such a game changer for you and for your team and family, and I just want you to know that the people around you, they want you to be riel more than they want you to be right, and choosing to lead head on with excitement and joy is what people really want. The forethought that I'm choosing to have every day is that may see you still have. The resource is that you need to keep going. You still have time. You still have WiFi. You still have amazing support. You still have books, you have journals, you have pins, you have equipment, you have food, you have food options. And I think most of us, like we still have money. Hopefully, hopefully we haven't spent every dollar that we've ever made. And sure people might be canceling or pausing. Their service is or not adding on the extra service. But guys that happens all the time, not just in a pandemic. People will always be canceling and pausing and and moving on or not, adding service's that's so normal. You might have a less amount of money coming in at once. But more than likely, there's still money in the bank. You have almost everything that you've had before the pandemic. It's just rearranged. A tiny little bit you still have the resource is that you need to keep going, as usual, the fifth and final thought That almost always makes me emotional. When I talk about it, I have no idea why I'm I guess I'm getting emotional just looking at it. I choose to believe that nothing has gone wrong. So Amy, she's on the guide culture team and she is so incredible, like I just can't even tell you how much of an angel that she is. But I think one of my favorite things about her is that she is working. She works on herself so much like she invests in herself. I mean, since way before guide culture, just who she is. She chooses to invest in herself to be better, and so she's very self aware. She knows what she's thinking. She's very aware of her thoughts. She's very aware of her actions and her results, and she's the 1st 1 to check in with my thoughts and just check in with our team's thoughts. And it's just I just love that about her so much. And so we had a meeting and you know, there's no doubt that I feel like her life probably has been turned upside down the most between her kids and her husband. So her son's in high school and he works a grocery store. So he's like in the front lines, big time, right? Her daughter was a senior in college and was just abruptly asked to move out in three hours on a specific day, like no questions asked. And you know, you're senior in college, you're not. You're not ready to leave. Yeah, you still have your goodbyes to make in your graduation. And, you know, she hasn't even thought about moving out. You know what it's like to move out in somewhere that you've lived for three years and you haven't cleaned out anything? It's crazy, right? Her husband travels for work like four days of the week has, I think, for years and years. And Olson, he's home, so everything is different for her. So naturally, like her head, can go in a in a rabbit hole, just like all of us, right? All of us have easily could easily go into a rabbit hole, but I feel like she almost has the excuse to go into a rabbit hole because she's lived this certain life for so long and all of a sudden, just in the snap of a finger is just not the way it's always been. And so she came to a meeting with this poem. Okay, she said. She woke up that saree am one morning and she just wrote this poem and it brought me to tears. Every time I think about it brings me to tears and I don't know why. I have no idea why it does. I think it might just be, you know, it's like what you want to hear and it's what you, um what you want to believe And it's like when you love somebody so much and you know that they're hurting and it's hard and they're thinking that's it makes you feel good that they're thinking the right way. I don't know, I don't know. It just brings me to tears. It brings me peace and it brings me hope and I wanted it to read, and I wanted to read it to you guys when I ask her permission And she said she would love. She was love for me to read it, so I'm going to go. Let me get a sip of coffee. Hold one. Okay. I'm going to try to read it the way she did. She was very expressive. Which made it even better. Wait. What? She canceled. Good. An unexpected afternoon of bonding over tacos and frosty drinks. Nothing has gone wrong. Wait. What? We need to cancel. Good. Ah! 120 more people will learn from us and grow themselves expanding their lives. Nothing has gone wrong. Wait. What? Move out on Monday and you only have three hours. Good. Three years of living in one place in three hours to move. And we didn't in the rain. Nothing has gone wrong. Wait. What? Working at the grocery store on the front lines. Good. You get to show up and help people get food for their family. You were young and you're healthy and you are needed now more than ever. At this time, nothing has gone wrong. Wait. What? No travel and clients laying off 40% of their workforce. Good. You got to use your creativity in circumstances to build a product to help track data. Nothing has gone wrong. Wait, What Spring break in senior year. Totally disruptive. Good. You have the technology toe, learn and stay connected. Nothing has gone wrong. The blessing of family togetherness and dinners. The almost empty nest being temporarily full again. Exercise and health. Meaningful work, forgiveness from others. Spring warmth, self reflection. Nothing has gone wrong. And so my final thought I choose to think today and I'm going to choose to think every day is that nothing? Absolutely nothing has gone wrong. And I really hope that this little thought right here All of these thoughts have helped you as much as it has helped me in the last 24 hours. It is giving me so much peace of mind to know that truly nothing has gone wrong. It's all about the way you think of it. And I just want you to know, I know there are so many people on the fence about guide culture, and I totally get it literally. I'm sitting here opening up my heart and soul to you that I also feel a sense of frozen nous. I just want to confirm with you right now that guide a culture is one of these safest place that you can be. It does not matter where you are at in your business does not matter how you feel about yourself. It doesn't matter what your goals are or what you want for your life or your mental stance is it doesn't matter. You can rest assured that guy'd culture is a place where you belong. You are welcomed here with open arms and we love you. And we will take care of you now more than ever. Because once you're a part of guide culture, this is not a one and done type of thing. This is not a four weeks in and then you know you're you're out of the bubble, right? Once you're in, you are our family. And there is nothing that you can d'oh to get out of our family there. So much support and guidance. I mean, guys, this Facebook group that we have for graduates cat loi myself are so active in it. In fact, Lloyd goes live in that Facebook group every single day. And let me ask you, what better person to have in your corner right now, then Loy? He has been through so much in terms of business and the ups and downs of business, and he has so much wisdom and advice that he is pouring all over us right now. It it's such a blessing, tohave him honestly. And I would hate for you to miss out on this chance to be in the family simply because you are frozen right now. And there might be a little bit of lying to yourself because I also have been lying to myself, right, A little bit of lying to yourself, thinking that you don't have the resource is or you don't have the time or the energy or the mental capacity because friends is just not true. You create the priorities that mean the most you when you create the energy in the mental capacity and the resource is the time for the things that you want to create it for. You absolutely have. The resource is that you have always had. Right now remember, we believe that nothing has gone wrong, that this is completely normal. We're choosing to take action because that's the result that we want. And we're going to take action based off of what we want for our loved ones, not necessarily what we want for ourselves. because we're going to make better decisions when we're choosing for somebody that we love and we are honored to become a better leader. Right now. We're honored to grow our leadership skills in this season because it is a joy. It is a joy, and it is an honor to lead through a crisis. I really hope that this episode was helpful for you today. I hope that you enjoyed it, and I hope that you are able to switch around those thoughts that have been possibly keeping you from moving forward. In a way, there's going to serve you best if guide culture is something that has been weighing on you and you know that this is the time to move forward.
